Encinitas Turkey Trot supports the following:
Funds raised will support veterans with the goal of reducing PTSD and veteran suicide. VANC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by Veterans for Veterans. For over 17 years VANC actively supports service personnel and their families to help them navigate life during and after service.
Additionally, Encinitas Turkey Trot will be providing a grant to the following organizations:

If you have never walked or run along the Pacific Coast in Encinitas during November, then youβre in for the surprise of your life! The early morning offers a beautiful color in the Pacific Ocean and the waves always seem to have a special look to them during this time of year. Thatβs why you should start your Thanksgiving holiday fun with friends and/or family at the Encinitas Turkey Trot 5k & 10k where we start and finish the race under the world-famous βENCINITASβ sign on Coast Highway 101.
Costume Contest Rules
Encinitas Turkey Trot Costume Contest:
- REGISTRATION
Register at the Costume Contest Registration table prior by 7am. - AWARD CEREMONY
Costume award ceremony immediately following the 10k race. - COSTUMES
Normal running attire is not considered a costume. - AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top three Individual and Group divisions who best display the spirit of Thanksgiving at the Encinitas Turkey Trot. - RACE COMPLETION TIMES
Race completion times have no bearing on costume contest results. - RULES ARE RULES
Participants must be present at awards ceremony to receive awards.

With Over 5,000+ Runners this year we highly recommend you pick up your bib and shirt at Road Runners (Carlsbad) on Wednesday or Tuesday. To incentivize you, we will have vendors to give you discounts and offers!

Results are available immediately after the event through SVE timing.

Steve Lebherz is a long-time resident of Encinitas and the man behind this mission of helping families in need throughout the North County of San Diego.
Why Thanksgiving Morning?
Thanksgiving Day is the #1 day for exercise. Join millions of turkey totters from all over the country in celebrating friends, family and community while getting healthy and giving back.
Will water be provided?
Yes, there will be water stations throughout the event and at the start and finish line.
Are strollers okay?
SURE! We encourage BOBs (Baby On Board) as this is a family event.
Can I bring my dog?
No pets allowed, sorry!
Can I ride a bike/rollerblade/tricycle/unicycle/skateboard?
No. Please leave your wheels at home.

Parking is available at the Encinitas Library, Encinitas City Hall, Coaster Station, Moonlight Beach, and surface streets on 2nd and 3rd Street.
What streets will be closed?
All North/ Southbound lanes on Coast Highway 101 from Encinitas Blvd to Chesterfield.
